Seolleongtang (beef soup)
Seolleongtang is a Korean soup made of beef and bone that is cooked fully. According to legend, in the 15th century, Seongjong King often started the ritual by sacrificing a cow for a “snow-covered soup” which he would then eat with the royal family. the dish is always served with kimchi made from radish.
Being one of the most popular dishes in Korea, Tteokbokki is available in almost street vendors in Seoul. Each stall has its own recipe so travelers can experience many different taste of this dish. This dish is made from rice flour formed long squeeze, then stewed with red peppers and onions. Therefore, the dish has a very specific reddish orange color. Tteokbokki was originally served in the imperial palace, but over time it has become the most popular street food in Korea.
Dakjuk (Chicken soup)
This Korean dish is as simple as its name but has a special flavor. The chicken is cooked with onion, lots of garlic, and rice.
Hotteok – street-style pancake
This is a kind of pastry usually sold at the stalls in the streets of Korea, which is the favorite dish of students, young people. Flour or glutinous rice is rolled into round, flat pieces mixed with sugar, peanuts and cinnamon powder, then baked on hot iron grills. It is a great snack for winter.
Yangnyeom tongdak (fried chicken)
This dish is the combination of sour, spicy, salty, sweet taste so that creates a very delicious dish. It is often served with beer.
